Bradford Broadgate opened on time

Marlborough has successfully completed two major retail projects which both opened in November 2015, Flemingate in Beverley and Broadway in Bradford.

At the Broadway Shopping centre in Bradford Marlborough constructed a £2.9 million Blockwork and Scaffolding package. Over 35000m2 of blockwork were built in a 25 week construction programme. The shopping centre was opened on the 5th November by Alexandra Burke who gave a rendition of a selection of her hits for shoppers and Contractors including “Hallelujah” Over 50 bricklayers and 30 scaffolders were employed to allow the project to open on the planned date.

The scheme by developer Westfield, is part of the Bradford urban regeneration plan by Bradford Council. The scheme has over 575000 square feet of retail and leisure area and over 1,300 car parking spaces. In addition to Debenhams, Marks and Spencer and Next, more than 70 shops, restaurants and cafes will bring together a dynamic mix of High Street fashion, food and lifestyle brands.
